So many of us idealize the season of Christmas. Neuroscience has taught us that we are created for connection and that our brains crave hugs and warm emotional affirmations. This does indeed bring us happiness and a sense of well being.

No matter how old we are we cannot help but wish for the magic of love and connection regardless of the reality of the challenges of the families we are gathering with.

Resolving the disparity between what we crave and what is possible may require the magic of the true message that God’s gift of love is ours for the asking regardless of the circumstances we live in.
